I'm a qualified and experienced coach with a Diploma in Advanced Executive Coaching, accredited by the Academy of Executive Coaching (AEC).
I have practised as a professional coach since 2003.
I use my experience and knowledge of management theory and practice over the years (see the Writer for Learning page) and of mentoring and coaching individuals.
My writing and consultancy work has involved a great deal of research, feedback and discussion with managers in a range of organisations, so I know what is likely to work with different learning styles and different organisational cultures, and where the trouble spots may be.
Coaching is a partnership. I work with my clients in a structured but intuitive way, balancing the organisation's requirements with the client's agenda and focusing on outcomes.
I use techniques from Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), NLP and Transactional Analysis (TA), as well as from management models, appropriate to the person and the circumstances.
I offer:
- Support for clients as they work towards a desired outcome
- Time and space for them to reflect and explore issues and options
- Feedback on behaviour: what is said and what is not said
- A sounding board for ideas
- Challenge, if and when appropriate
- Tools and techniques for clients to use between coaching sessions
- Suggestions, opinions and 'what if
' scenarios, if appropriate.
If a project needs more than one coach or trainer, I can call on other experienced and qualified associates to work with me.
My coaching work falls into three main categories, although in reality I may blend all three types, depending on the situation and the person.
